My LTX Shootout Thread
Well yesterday I finally started working on my junk!
I had originally planned to build a new car for the Shootout, but I had the opportunity to buy 2010 Challenger Drag Pak #11 from Dodge which took a big bite out of my racing budget for 2010.
My first job was to install shorter front tires. Hopefully that will bring my reaction times more in line with where they need to be. After that I lowered the front end and had "Uncle" Roger do a front end alignment. Nothing trick here. Just a focus on having the car roll free.

As there has been so much talk about how much money is in this motor I thought I would let you guys have a look inside!
Intake.
Exhaust runner.
Combustion chamber.
Intake runner.
Throttle body.
Maybe now some people will keep quiet when it comes to things that they know nothing about?

Can't wait to see what you put together. Unforseen machine shop delays keep me from bringing the car, but I still might fly out there .

GIZMO--let me pick your brain for a minute here........
What do you to for a slightly dragging set of front brakes like I have? Is the caliper bad and sticking? I replaced one of them but still it is difficult to turn the wheels when the car is in the air. I have heard about putting tiny springs to pry the pads apart but have not seen it myself.
What are your preferred front end alignment specs and why?

So you're saying if you pulled a good running stock motor out of an f-body your car would run identical times as it does with the current motor in it?

It is a 4.060 over blueprinted stock motor. The NHRA specs. can be found here...
http://www.nhra.com/competition/blueprints.aspx
It has forged pistons and rods. Both are NHRA accepted replacements (and are within the legal weight specs. The cam is stock lift, but has a lot of duration. If you look close you can see that the intake valve is "kissing" the piston at high rpm!
The intake ports flowed 205-210 CFM. The valves are stock replacements 1.94/1.50 (stainless is allowed). Any valve job is allowed. Did any of you notice the writing on the side of the heads? Is it possible that maybe someone took time to make sure that this thing is right? Please don't turn this thread into something that it wasn't intended to be.
