I have heard a bunch about this. Definitely something we're looking into. Unfortunately we don't just sell optisparks so we've been BURIED in other stuff to do. And the tax man wants my 1040 and my money!

so if your optispark fail, u replace water pump while u at it ?
wat about water pump fail, i replace optispark too ?

I would not touch any opti that is working properly period.

Not helping sales but agreed

Seriously though, if we get people that haven't really nailed it down we definitely recommend they take it to a mechanic or dealer to get a for sure diagnosis. Buying a new distributor when you don't need one doesn't help either party in the long run.
