Mail order tunes are good enough "usually" for at least running and breaking in whatever setup you have and at least make it driveable enough to where you can eventually get it dyno tuned.

They pay the bill for th eboards and for a marketing staff, marketing companies buying car forums has made it hard for smaller companies to get out there, I think it is $275 a month to post here as a sponsor ( just post no banner or anything).
In the end without those of us logging into these forums they could not get such high fees, so I feel we have a right to know if a sponsoring vendor has done someone wrong. Not saying a flame war but if there a facts then they should stay for all to see.

Good News today. I dropped the car off last night to a local tuner and the car is already ready for pick up. Now I just gotta get it on a dyno to see how much power she's making on the new setup. Talk about quick and excellent service. I guess **** just happens for a reason.

WTF? Why would you have just gotten it dyno tuned? That would have been a lot easier and more efficient.

I thought the same thing. Makes NO sense to drop the car off at a shop, pay once to have the chip burned, then go back and drop it off to have it tuned and burned, AGAIN.

Only 3 people I know that do chip cars in my local area. Hawks I don't like very much, TDC charge an arm and a leg for dyno tune, and this guy that has tuned allot of locals at an unbeatable price. Does extremely good work, car idles perfect at 700 and pulls all the way to 6700. Loving it so far. He tuned a bolt on lt1 that made 325whp that supposedly went 7.99 @ 82.

Im sure we are hearing a slightly skewed version of the story. Being in retail sometimes people drop the ball, calls dont get returned emails dont get replied to, it happens, sure maybe they should have helped you out a little but you also need to understand NO COMPANY is 100% perfect **** happens, its just people we are dealing with we all make mistakes. Ive had great experiences with PCMforless. I think they did the right thing by refunding your money and not doing business with you.

Sometimes you just cant make a customer happy and when they get on the internet and post a bunch of stuff about how horrible you are you just need to wash your hands of them.

Im willing to bet you if you would have taken it up with them instead of running to the internetz and bad mouthin them they would have been way more helpful and probably fixed your problem.

PCMforless isnt bad, there is a reason they have been around for so long, the companies that actually have BAD customer service and have no desire to fix it or improve it dont last

My .02

Never had a problem with pcmforless. Maybe next time buy your own ALDL cable and have them email you the tune. It'll keep you from crying on the ls1tech for awhile, anyway. Or spend the extra cash and have it dyno tuned. Either way, keep your tears to yourself and be a little more patient.

I wont say that i think getting pissed about a mail order tune in unfair because you did pay money for it. But its also not entirely fair, its a mail order tune for god-sake. To me its dyno tune or nothing. Just my .02

Now as far my PCMforless is concerned. My tune from this is great, zero complaints.

I've never used PCM4less, I used MADZ28, and was very happy. A couple of my friends have used pcm4less, and neither of their cars ever ran right.

Who at PCM For Less is causing all these problems for everyone? I have very good luck with Bryan Herter's tunes. Never a problem. The order form kinda sucks so if you miss something on there you will get a bad tune.
