Default Sugar in gas tank

Symptoms? Repair? How long does it take to do something.

My car got hard to start the other day and finally stranded me today. Can't hear the fuel pump coming on. I'm gonna put a gauge on it tomorrow.

Now my ranger isn't idling. I have to give it a lot of gas to get going and it sputters.

Don't really have enemies or anyone mad at me but am suspecting something now. How can I test gas for sugar or something else that shouldn't be in there.

I syphined the gas outta my boat just to be safe and have it in cans.

I just don't see both my vehicles breaking down at once. I didn't buy gas at the same placed either so Ive ruled bad gas out.

Well I'm getting spark but no gas.

Trucks getting no gas but is getting spark.

Just talked to my bestfriend and his mustang quit running today. I'm not sure if he's getting fire or not.

Guess it's just a coincidence. Love how you can't post any questions on here and get straight answers.

Ive never heard of a way to test the gas for sugar.
How many miles on the fuel pump?

I'm leaning towards it being a coincidence.

See if the gas tastes like maple syrup.

...that was a joke - don't actually do that.

Squirt some of the gas you have in cans into the throttle body. If it starts the cAR IA FUEL STARVED...COULD BE THE FUEL FILTER OR THE PUMP. Not likely sugar...unless you are guilty of something that makes you look over your shoulder.

Haven't checked around the fillers.

I'm gonna cut apart the filter tomorrow.

If I burn the gas will it leave a residue?

I'm thinking fuel pump too but it's just weird for my two vehicles and my best friends to breakdown the same day.

why would you jump to the assumption that there is sugar in your gas tank?? there are numerous other reasons you might not be getting fuel.

check if your getting fuel pressure

***Sugar is not soluble in gasoline***

Sugar dissolves in water, but its not going to in aromatic petroleum distillates. Usually the worst is physically removing it from the tank. The sock will prevent any of it from getting into the pump/lines, where it would act like sand due to its granular nature.

Ok pulled the filters in the truck and camaro and they were both stopped up. Not sure what it was but I drained the gas to be safe. Luckily both were under a 1/4 tank.

Fresh gas and filters got them running. Not sure about my friends mustang he's not as handy on cars as me and likes to use a mechanic.

After research on google and from what the dude said above me, sugar doesn't dissolve in gas so it's not nearly as bad as what is rumored.
So that means my boat gas should be safe because there's no solids floating around in it. I'm gonna run it through a tractor funnel to be sure though.

And since everyones so interested in why I suspected sugar I have two words. Crazy women.

Gojira94 is right, I am pretty sure when they test "sugar in the gas tank" on Mythbusters and it did nothing.
