Default crank sensor

Kinda a dumb question butdo our cars have a crank sensor and could this be the issue I'm having with car sputtering when i sit at idle cause now my speedometer when I floor it and get closer to high rpms it starts bouncing around my speedo and my tach both are bouncing around .... a friend of family told me about it but isnt sure if we have one so I will ask yall

96 and 97 LT1 f-bodies did. what year is your car? previous years did not have one

The crank sensor is read only. They do nothing more than detect misfires.

Mine is a 95 so I don't got one alright also when my car throws a check engine light does it store in the computer cause it comes on and goes off and I wanna see if I can still figure out what it was that it was on for

Like mentioned, CPSs were only used on OBDII cars.

As for the CEL, no use in guessing - have it scanned. That's what it's there for.

I know I am going to but the only problem is it isn't on all the time does it store it in the computer as like a recent check engine light,or w/e

yeah it should. I believe 95's had the obd1 computer but a obd2 port. so it might be tricky finding a scanner unless you just take it to the dealership

I was thinking about taking it to dealer cause this problem has just been a pain in my *** oh and RAM air I tested fuel pressure outta pump 47 and fuel rail close to same I'm starting to think it night be distributor
