lt4 knock module
It's worth it if you are seeing false knock and have no intention of getting PCM programming. Similar results of the LT4 knock module can be had with PCM programming by desensitizing the knock sensor/module.
I have an excellent tuner who spends a great amount of time to dial it in. Once we had it where we wanted it using the LT1 KM, we were getting a freak knock count that would pull timing from time to time on the dyno. We did not really want to pull timing cause power was maxed.
By simply putting the LT4 KM in, all the occasional freak knock counts were gone without having to touch the timing tables. I absolutely never see any KR on the street now.
Not sure what else we could have done to de-sensitize the LT1 KM.
you can desensitize the knock sensor in LT1 Edit I've done it before..........however ryan i cant see why your car would need the LT4 sensor......its a stock car with headers it should not be gettin false knock from just headers.......hell i had a stock one on my built 355 and it drew very little timing and that was with high compression and an agressive hydraulic roller.......if it were me id save the $40 and put it towards a license so we can tune that thing....i guarantee I can make it gain a substancial amount of power from tuning it.....

Your talking about a 30 dollar part that takes 3 seconds to install why not...I noticed nothing on my 97, back in the day some LT1 guys said it smoothed out there top end, but like me a lot didnt notice anything.
The cost in years past was around $40.00 or so. Now they are much more expensive I ASSUME because they are no longer in production by GM. $70-$80 seems to be the new norm. If you can find them.
I made a thread a few months ago about this, I had talked to Mike K. at the WS6 store I called to find out why they raised the price so much on the LT4 Km. He told me because they were being discontinued. At the time he only had 3-4 left
