LT1 schraeder valve, fuel pressure sendor question.

LT1 schraeder valve, fuel pressure sendor question.
I'm going to hookup the electronic fuel pressure into the Aeroforce interceptor analog 1 input. I'm wondering on a LT1 if you have to remove the schraeder valve and how do you bleed off the pressure to remove the valve? I have all the pieces, just don't want to remove the valve if it is not needed.

Thank you. I've already stated I have all the pieces, IE: -4an fitting with -4an cap. I need to know if the schraeder valve needs to be removed on the LT1. If so, how do you bleed off the fuel pressure safely to install the fitting? Also, if the fitting is aluminum and the fuel pressure hookup location on the rail is metal do you just tighten the AN fitting just past snug. Or should I apply teflon tape or pasted to the metal fitting on the fuel rail and then snug up the AN fitting?
Thanks for any and all help.

The valve must be removed if you are attaching a fitting for a guage or guage sender. However, I would not attach the guage directly to the valve as they are notoriously weak at the base of the valve where it meets the fuel rail. I had a mechanical guage mounted there for over 10 years and went thru 3 fuel rails - as the weld at the base of the valve always cracks and will spray fuel or drip fuel slowly down the back of the motor. Very very bad fire risk and I have since taken it off and will only hook up a mech guage temporairly if I need to these days. Just my opinion and want to make sure you know the risk as that valve is very weak.

DAVE00,
Thanks for answering my specifics on the question. I will only be hooking up the fuel pressure sending unit (electronic) for my ANALOG 1 input on the Aeroforce interceptor gauge. Hopefully it will not cause a problem on the stock fuel fitting. It weighs next to nothing. Thanks
