what plugs do I need?

Default what plugs do I need?

I have a set of AFR 210 heads for my 383 lt1 build. I am currently running a stock style plug and the tuner recommended NGK TR6 plugs. I was looking on AFR's website because a friend said he thinks I needed sbc plugs with the metal gasket and they say to use plugs with a gasket. Am I using the wrong plugs? Did the tuner recommend the wrong plugs as well? I would like to change the plugs now but unless I find out more I have to wait until Monday and talk with someone at AFR.

Your heads and most aftermarket heads are mchined for a gasketed plug. So, yes you need the gasketed version of the TR6.

Look at Summit or Jegs. Aftermarket also need a longer reach plug.

I was told I need a hot plug any recommendations. I am running low compression

96 383 stroker motor
4 bolt splay
Lunati crank
Oliver I beam rods
je inverted dish pistons (reason for the low compression)
comp cam 290 hr-12
comp cam promag roller rockers 1.6
AFR 210 heads
2500 stall
BBK 58mm throttle body
lt4 intake port matched
pacesetter long tube headers
off road Y-pipe
flow masters

I ran tr55's @ .042 for years without any problems. Mine was a low compression 383 aswell( 10:1). comp billet xe 230/236 114, lpe ported stock castings milled 54cc, eagle forged rod/ crank, je dished piston(9.6:1 with stock 58cc heads) etc...

We ran Autolite 104 on our old AFR setup I believe....

AFR recommended NGK-FR5 or the autolite-3926.

a 3926 is comparable to a stock lt1 plug.
