Do those filters actually have a 2 quart capacity? Based on the dimensions, I can't imagine that they would actually hold a half gallon of oil.

WTF?! Actually this might have been a good idea for engine break in and the dyno session.

The K&N 3002 is the same size as that Mobil 1 on the left, correct? That Mobil 1 looks like the same size as the Moroso 22460 that I have sitting on my shelf.

I'm lost, a taller filter for more filtration? Whys everyone what some giant *** one? When I actually had a shop do my oil they put the short stubby crap in, now it runs with the taller 3002 k&n I believe. That's all you need isn't ?

Well probably initially for engine break in you'd want more filtration but after that I don't see the point. I think the 3002 is more than enough IMO.

Yea that Mobil is a 302 and that is the same thing as a K&N 3002, I think some stores changed the numbering system on mobil as some of them don't call them 302's anymore. If you are running a motor on the dyno you want to get all the fluids up to temp I wouldn't run anything more than the tall 3002 filter.

More capacity, I have always ran the 302 or 3002, no need for a 2quart on our motors.

Wix #51069. Not too tall, not too short.

I've been running the Delco 1218 also, especially since all the ones "made for the LT1" are now about half as tall as they used to be.

I actually just looked since I have to do the oil today. I still have the smallest k&n on there. Any other reason besides capacity ? Is the small one ok ?
