I'm out of the lt1 world, but at 800rwhp you should be able to pull 15,000 miles MINIMUM out of it, well that is assuming you have a good tuneup and fuel and aren't beating the sh*t out of bearings from detonation.

Maybe you can use your wiz math to explain how many miles a stock lq9 making 825+ rwhp(thru an auto) will go before needing rebuilt? This is assuming it has probably 50-100k miles on it already. Or how about a stock lq4 or lm7 making around 650rwhp, starting out with 150,000 miles. I'll tell you this, it's at least 7,000 miles on one and 12,000 miles on another.

The fastest 6-speed LT1 was with an eagle 355 build, ported lt1 castings, and an 88mm turbo.
FI's 9 Second LT1 Street Car! - Forced Inductions has pounded the rollers with 1012rwhp & 909rwtq SAE with their PTK 88mm Turbo setup on an ordinary budget Eagle 355 rebuild. This street terror runs our 200cc ported GM lt1 castings, a 218/218 .544/.544 camshaft, 12-bolt rear end, and a D&D T56 6-speed. This is a full weight street car with 3680lb Raceweight!. With Jose @ FI's expertise it's run a best of 122mph in the 1/8th and 9.871 @ 156.74mph in the quarter! The fastest LT1 powered LT1 F-body ever! Click HERE for a timeslip of this record setting pass!

well i can add a little bit to this........my shortblock is built to take a high hp high rpm beating heres what i paid..........
4 bolt billet main caps $300
Callies Magnum Crank $1450
Oliver 6" Billet Steel Rods $1200
SRP Proseries Pistons $700
Machine work...bore..align bore and hone...balance...blueprint...magnaflux and sonic test...deck the block and correct all geometrys including lifter bores was $1400
Clevite Bearings $200 H Series
ARP PRO series main studs $150 IIRC??
Then you need an oil pump/pickup/pan $400
From what i can see i got around $5500ish in just my shortblock with me doing all of the clearance checking and assembly. Of course i can beat it like a red headed step child now but still......the $$ grow quickly when taking on a project of this caliber.

You can't keep **** running N/A. What makes you think you could make a FI application run until it's next required "refresh?" You keep mouthing about all these different applications and how easy they are. Do it already. What about that Vette bone stock motor you were carrying on about outrunning a new GT? How's that project going?
It's easy to criticize you when you make idiotic statements like how a "refresh" is required for a 550hp N/A engine after what was it? Five or eight thousand miles?

i'm sure those diesel engines running 14:1 compression or more and 30lbs of boost or more are rebuilding that often..
if its setup correct you dont have to **** with it no more than a blown carbureted setup or a na setup.. probably have to mess with a na setup even more actually..

there's alot of people posting in here that shouldnt be. the guy with the big block idea....
like fastfatboy said... 355 or 383, 88mm, and some big heads is an easy 700+ rwhp. buddy of mine did it with a gt47, comp ported afr 227s (non eliminator) on a 355 with eagle 4340 stuff. stock computer and opti as well.

Id rather be fast and tear my junk down WEEKLY that have a 396 solid roller six speed PILE and run mid 12's.
BTW quik95lt1 isnt much quicker than me......hes on race fuel, fast system, bigger cam, more gear, bigger converter.... so why is mine overbuilt and hes not? Just curious.
Nothing against you quik, just making a point.

I sure hope I can build a 12 second SR stroker one day...
Orrr.... I'll just do it with a budget cam only car.
Tell you what. I have more respect for the guy running mid-low 10s and blowing 2 motors than the guy that has a 12 second solid roller stroker. Both cases may show builder problems, but at least one is fast...
