Default hooker super comp lts

ok i just bought some hooker super comps for realy cheap never been installed...and one of the pipes comes apart from the header to go around the steering thing..i was wondering if any one has had a problem with it leaking? and if so wat did u do to fix it? thanks

I put some high-temp RTV on the outside of the smaller piper when I pushed them together.

Still leaks a tiny bit, but I honestly can't think of any other solutions. I guess I was hoping someone would have come up with a better one by now lol.

Mine leaked bad.. I gooped a bunch of high temp copper rtv on the smaller pipe and shoved it back in there. Hasn't leaked since.

i used the permatex copper hi temp silicone and have never had a leak on mine........it shouldn't leak at all as long as the pipes arent dented or warped.......like i said i've neva had mine leak......

I use high temp RTV as well. Doesn't leak.

Well don't I feel like an ***! Everyone used the same solution as I did and I'm the only one who's still leaks lol

I even used the ultra copper RTV lol

ok this is what i was planning on doing just wanted to make sure that some didnt haver a better idea..lol i was thinking of like a small clamp like some do on the exhaust bit it would hvae to be a very small one..

pull it apart and clean the pipes with a wire brush where they slide into each other then coat the male side with rtv and pop it in and make sure you give it overnight to dry and harden up before you fire it

this should take care of it unless the pipes are damaged

nope no need for the clamp all that will do is distort the pipe opening.....copper rtv will work justttttt ffinnneeee.....again like i said above just give it like 12 hours of drying time before you fire it up

Yes, DEFINITELY let it cure first. I let mine sit for a whole weekend. When I got back to it it was perfect!
