Can we not light off an extra 150 hp with the stock ignition system (with properly gapped plugs)? Or is everyone buying these failure prone add on ignition boxes just for the bells and whistles that help to control a nitrous system?

For me, the ignition box is invaluable to have especially with nitrous and a 6 speed. Spark retard, 2-step are a must have. I'm sure you could get away with a stock ignition system on a 150 but it may not be running as optimal as it could be. If you don't get the gap tight enough, you'll just blow the spark right out.

There were a few failures, its not a widespread problem.

Kyle's point is very valid! I would use a box of somekind why take the chance without one?

Like I mentioned in my previous post, my MSD 6A and Mutlistep Retard are 10 years old with no problems. Also have 2 friends (brothers) who have MSD boxes that are around 10 years old and still going. One on a Mustang and one on a 2nd gen Camaro.

Alot of these look great but one thing I didn't see, unless I missed one somewhere, is a window switch.
I run a Digital 6 with the Dig. window switch on the wifes ImpSS. Been on there for 5 years and no complaints yet.

I mounted my window switch right next to my Digital 6 in the glove box. I love my setup!! I will take some pics. Digi 6 stays real cool with the mounted cpu fans and vent holes..
