Default Another M6 60 thread

I want your ideas on making this bitch HOOK. I'm talking pull the tires on the street hook.

Best I've ever cut is a 1.74 (spinning). I could have aired down and played with that some more but I want to go well beyond that. I'm talking in the 1.4 range.

I MPH enough for bottom 11's, I want to get the 60ft there and then put heads on it and go for 10's.

I'm thinking of getting a good rear built to handle the abuse this winter, then calling madman to set up the suspension.

Any thoughts?

What are you M6 guys doing that works well at the track AND on the street.

I'm thinking MT ET Radials. 325 / 15

Reposition instant center

Pinion angle

Front sway bar disconnect

Move some weight around (battery, etc).

Drag shocks. Recommendations? I still want it to corner well

I just got some MT ET's in a 275 for my 12bolt, it hooks pretty good on the street if you keep the tire pressure low, but it does feel a bit squishy at highway speeds.

It's not going to corner well and hook on the street. You're going to have to pick one and stick with it.

i had an 84 mustang that would pull the front tires on the street..ran 7.30's at the track dont remember the 60ft times. that was a long time ago.
it did have 28x10.5 et streets, 6point cage, drilled the front struts with strut extensions, no swaybar, an airbag on the passenger side with 8lbs in it, homemade lower control arms moved the mounts down 1inch in the rear, homemade sfc's.. it didnt do corners well

i did a 93 cobra with a 351 for a customer years ago. i used a tubular k-member, and afco shocks on all four corners...seems like he was cutting 1.5 60fts with bfg drag radials.. shocks were adjustable, when he got done at the track, he stiffened the suspension up turning 4 ***** and drove it home.. car had a 10pt cage and the rear shocks mounted off the cage, they come up into the hatch area and i had little trap doors made so you could open them and get to the adjusting ***** on the shocks..

Not on the street they're not. I have MT ET bias plies and they spin on motor.

I want to hook a healthy shot out of the hole on the street.

If it were me (and I'm always looking for deals) I would do as follows:

-Used/Rebuilt coil overs w/300lb springs for the front. Double adjustable if possible.
-Used QA1/Strange/Afco adjustable shocks for the rear or new CE/Summit 3-ways set on 50/50
-Used Chassis mount TQ arm
-LCA's
-SFC's
-A quality anti-roll bar or maybe a drag bag if you want to be cheap.

My setup is pretty basic and I've gone 1.51

97 WS6 3635 with me in it

-MT ET Drag 28x10.5x15 stiff sidewall
-15x10 Draglites in the back 15x3.5 in the front
-4.56 gears
-No front sway bar
-Stock WS6 springs and shocks
-UMI full length non adjustable torque arm
-UMI LCAs in bottom hole at rear
-UMI boxed SFCs
-Relocation brackets

This was leaving on the 2 step at 4,000. I want 1.40s!!!

really need a DA shock on the rear of a stick car, along with a bias ply tire. Need to be able to add/take hit to the tire to keep wheelspeed/slip in check, especially if you're around full weight... radial tire is just going to make that line even finer.

Never ran it on the track again after this post. It was always 2.0s on the motor and 1.74 was the best ever on the spray, spinning pretty hard.

New combo should hook well, hopefully
