I really wish Mike Harris wouldn't have broken his trans. THAT is the big car that can REALLY impress people! He could have given you a good race in that final.
He hits the tires so damn hard and was spinning even worse than I was yesterday, running 10.70's-80's when the car is capable of 10.4's in weather like this. At the shootout, he had only one good wheelstanding run before he broke.

I totally agree. He will see a 10 sec pass N/A with his setup. Rebuilt stock bottom end and the same AI setup I have with their baby HR cam. My run was right before yours and Pat's where I got my *** handed to me but was still a blast to get to the finals.

Man that thing gets up and scoots! Very nice mph in the 1/8th!
How big of a market is there for B-bodies? The reason why I ask is because there is a vendor on here that makes all sorts of carbon fiber stuff for us f-body guys and he does it very cheap. DMH Fabrication is the vendor. All he needs is to make a mold of something and he can make it in carbon fiber.
How heavy are the door panels in a b-body? He makes f-body door panels that weigh 12 ounces each, for $299/pair. We shave 16lbs. He makes mirror delete kits, t-top replacement kits, but he can do just about anything.
Here is a thread started by them:

How light can you get a b-body and have it still look like a street car?

It spun bad on every run. Picked up the front wheels and then unloaded the tires when the front susp topped out. I tried all the way up to 6 on the 12 position QA1-R's to slow down the front end rise, but couldn't do any good. Track prep is so critical for these long wheelbase cars. You guys have no idea how easy you have it! You may have not noticed, but the starting line at BG really deteriorated as the day went on. It was great first passes of the morning.
When I raced you, it did the same thing; picked em up and then unloaded. At that time, it was the worst 60' with this combo to date. I beat that on Sunday.......first 60' was a 1.68..lol!

Joelster,
The lightest B-bodies that I know of that are still nice looking cars and driveable are mine and Mike Harris's. Both are around 3800 lbs, but his is caged and he's removed AC and some accessories, racing seat. Mine is not caged and has AC and all accessories, stock driver seat, other seats removed when trying for a new best.
There are some gutted Caprices out there weighing in the 3300-3400 lb range with driver. They look like a street car.........until you get close...lol!
I doubt if there's much of a market for many lightweight parts on these cars anymore. A few have c/f hoods.
So many of the cars are now clapped out, kids on low budgets picking them up for next to nothing, not many of us left still keeping them nice and pushing the envelope.

Congrats Pat ![Cheers!!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cheers.gif)
You have done some tremendous work my friend, and its definitely paying off. Running faster NA than you did a few years ago on the bottle!! That's Insane. Car still looks immaculate. I see a high potential for 10's NA for you this Winter in Awesome air. Especially they way your are launching that BADASS Ride.

I've always loved those blueish-gray Impala SS's, but they still command big bucks, even today.

Mike, that 60' would have been a 1.45-1.47 if we'd had a starting line Sunday.
It spun bad on every run. Picked up the front wheels and then unloaded the tires when the front susp topped out. Haha that is awesome!! I totally agree with you and I think he still regrets not getting one especially since their value has retained so high over the years. That '96 SS was the first "fast" car I ever rode in, I think I was about 8 years old at the time and I remember my Dad ripping on the thing so hard that he scared the living hell out of me lol. I have very fond memories of them as a kid so one day I will bite the bullet and snag a clean one.

With times like that you might just convince me to pull some weight out of my car.
Far as practical, had a carseat and booster in mine at the same time, have to take the slicks out of the trunk to make room for a stroller though. Quiet enough for passengers to nap in too.
