RWHP in the LT1???

switch out the edelbroke headers for some long tubes, like everyone is saying.
The stall isnt "crap" its a stall. If you really want to play with the big boys get a 3000+ vig or yank stall. Nothing anywhere says a 2200 stall is crap unless the STR or something is low.
Ported maf isnt helping or hurting you.
Get a custom tune and youll be in business.
Hotcam is a waste of time, ill agree there. For the time and money youll have invested doing the cam swap, the first time you get on it, youll wish you went bigger. I tell everyone who does cams, go big! not saying massive but just dont get a cam thats slightly larger then stock.
CC503 or A/I 226/234 or Crane 227 seem to be what alot of people like for a stock headed car. GM846 might be in there as well?

I'm not saying there is no restriction, I just think it is blown out of proportion. I didn't gain any more rwhp or ET/MPH at the track with a cutout on my Flowmaster than my friend did with a cutout on his Magnaflow. 2 tenths is double what I picked up and my car was cam/bolt-on.
Not trying to start an argument, my personal experiences have just never reflected the online disgust that is directed at Flowmaster

What exhaust setup was on your old motor out of curiosity?

Here are my results on two of my previous cars:
1994 Trans Am, A4, mild bolt-on setup. The slip on the left is with the cutout closed, running through the Flowmaster catback. The slip on the right is the next pass I made when I opened the cutout. These passes were about an hour apart.
1993 Trans Am, A4, pretty much all the bolt-ons except for rocker arms and a throttle body. The green line is through the Flowmaster catback and the red and blue lines are with the cutout open. I gained 5 rwhp and 5-6 rwtq from the cutout.
Like I said, these are just my experiences

Don't most cars usually gain a few hp from having a cutout whether it's a Flowmaster, Borla, etc? At least from my experience from seeing before and after cutout dyno's on misc cars.

Stock stall on LT1's is 1650 but they tend to stall anywhere from 1600 to 1900. It is a crap shoot with stockers. My factory stock converter stalled at 1700 and the new rebuilt one stalls at 2000. lol I need to do a good 2500+ stall as soon as my trans lasts more than a damn year.

I dyno'd 231/270 stock. (cylinder 4/8 random misses and needing a tune up) Doubt it would have done much better.
Edit: and a bad o2. Forgot I had that for 1.5 years too!
