tune for LT1 with hot cam

have a 1996 t/a with a hot cam.. needs a tune, i have hp tuners and have tuned ls1s with it but never a lt1, was wondering what needs to be done for the cam swap... thanks

You'll need some new software. (or old new software)

imo just get a mail order tune from pcmforless or ion... Im sure they can get the tune close. there is not really any good tuning solutions out there for obd2 lt1's. Your only other option would be to convert obd1, but then you still need to buy software on top of that. Option 1 being the cheapest route.

Mail tunes are so cheap and easy and for that level of modifications is going to be damn close too. Not worth the hassle of getting all that stuff yet IMO.

just got my mail hotcam car tuned from Ion. runs perfect. Passed emissions too.

+1 once you get into more serious mods (ported heads, bigger cam, nitrous), worry about getting tuning software. A mail order will be more than sufficient for a simple hotcam/bolt on motor

i think you guys missed the point... iam tuning this myself iam not going to pay for some mail order stuff or convert over to obd1... wanting to know what needs to be done as far as timing and idle rpm and maf flow rate ect...
