SS RRR,
Following on your load affects MPGs theory and not RPMs.

Would you agree with this example:
Cruising at 60MPH in 5th or 6th gears. In 5th MAP=12 and in 6th MAP=15. You would have better mileage in 5th?

The lowest MAP reading in any given gear crusing at a steady MPH = the best MPGs?

Well sure. Driving in a perfect world on a flat road for a given amount of time, absolutely you will average better mpg...
I've posted this before in some other related thread where I was getting more than 27mpg driving I-30 in east Texas at 80mph with the a/c on and running 4.10 gears...
