yeah, i've been reading that M6 puts a lot more stress on the rear then A4. I'm prob. gonna do Full Exhaust (Headers, ORY, GMMG) and CAI... I dont know of any other bolt ons worth getting? I already have the GMMG and a Short Throw Shifter.

True, but i mean, on the street rolling at 40 and a respectable car comes up (Friends around town with Evos, Cobras, LS1's), it would be fun to stomp it and mess around with em.

yea im just not a a big fan of roll racing. might as well just take em to a dyno and see who make more power and call them the winner

if you want to put it into perspective...have you ever seen a FWD ricer launch?

They dump it, the motor screams, the wheel hop begins and then they shift and the rpms go WAAAAYYYY down. Then they are at to low of an rpm. This happens because they are spinning the tires, the rpms are crazy high and the wheels are spinning bad, but they have no idea how fast they are actually going. so they shift and the rpms drop as if they were doing 15mph in 2nd gear.

Work on your launches. Hard/smokey launches arnt what get you good times. Slipping the clutch a little more and finding that perfect spot is what you need to do. M6 cars are hard to launch, your tires may have something to do with it as well. not just the compound but the sidewall aspect ratio as well.

like thes guys are sayin your not driving it right, practice your launches easing off the clutch as fast as possible with out breaking the tires loose. you'll figure out when you've gotten the most acceleration w/ the least wheel spin. also a set of LCA's will help plant those tires

nope, you can't have it both ways! a bigger cam will move the powerband so it starts and ends higher. there are mild grinds out ther that will retain the low end while picking up on the high end, if you still want a cam like your describing after figuring out your launch I'd look into a crane227 or speed inc's cadiallac cam.

Like the others are trying to tell ya, your vehicle speed is not matching your tire speed when you are making the 1-2 shift. So in actuality, you might as well be trying to launch in second gear. Next time you are out driving around, find a nice steep hill and practice taking off slowly while going up it. Don't just drop the clutch and get going, pretend there is a cop behind you and take off deliberately slower. Then apply that to the flat launch, only give it more gas and slowly let the clutch out. If the tires don't spin, let the clutch out faster next time.

Very True. The m6 is WAY harder on the 10 bolt than the a4.

You need to control the wheelspin! Instead of launching it at 2k launch it at a lower rpm and dont simply put the pedal to the floor. If it starts to blow the tires off either slip the clutch slightly or feature the throttle slightly to regain traction.

thanks for all the advice, this morning i went out and ran the clutch out slower while gradually giving gas, it spun for maybe 5 feet then caught in first... 1-2 shift i ended up at 4200ish in 2nd in the powerband and pullin hard Now that the streets are cold, at 15mph i hit it and it spins like a ****... makes me feel like i have more power
