Great job Brian! Getting a car to make it down the 1/4 (especially a M6 car!) takes both seat time and the proper setup. I still believe your car has a 10.7@125 in it with just a little more seat time and skinnies

They must of been paying attention. I did Friday night test and tune there recently, running 11.1's and they didn't say anything about not having a cage.

I work right down the road from MIR, so let me know next time you head up there.

That must be one hell of a clutch to get a 3750lb car out of the hole like that!!!

Thanks. Yes I ran the 17's up front. Because I have C5 brakes I haven't done the research in what I need to do to run a skinny up front. Not sure if I want to since my car doesn't see the track all too often. Dunno. Torn on that one too.

Don't do it, son! It's paid for. Keep it around.

Thanks. The track I was booted from was an IHRA track. There's a NHRA track I haven't been to in a long time...

Thanks Jason. Thank you for all the kind words, info and support over the last few years since I started this project. I'm not quite sure I'd be able to run that MPH, but maybe a high high 10 w/ skinnies? I've never ran them so I have no idea what kind of difference they would make.

Cool deal. I was running a red '68 Camaro and as you can see from the slip it was a real close race so I think it got alot of attention from the tower. Dunno. What I do know is after the 2nd run there were alot of lookie lous creeping around my pile.

OMG RAMZ! You should become the RAM Powergrip mouthpiece.
Don't forget, steep gears have a lot to do with getting a heavy turd pile out of the hole too.

SS RRR, can the Weld RT-S perhaps clear your brake setup? Good stuff on the times.

Brian,
You may be suprised with what your car still has in in. You are only 2.5mph away from 125 which is what I have thought your car would be capable of running without going nuts on the weight reduction. I think you will see 1.5mph with going to front skinnies compared to the 17" rims you have up front. After that, just keep learning to drive the car. I gained 6mph in my SR 396 from the first time I took it to the track just by getting seat time in it. One thing my car responded to was short shifting 1st gear at 6500 (as opposed to 7k) and running out 3rd gear as long as I could before shifting to 4th.

My suggestion from here would be to put a Wolfe chromoly bar in it, buy some front skinnies, and just keep working on driving it. You'll be in the 10s and the mph will probably be 125+. Thats REAL good for a full weight M6 street car

That's not my slogan, son. I just mock it. The proof should be the number on the windshield and on the slip. I'm pretty sure I just did about the same ET AND mph or better than your first few efforts with your monster setup, on stock front WHEELS even with a STOCK intake/stock STYLE throttlebody. BIG Corvette BRAKES, and with a MANUAL transmission at a thirty SEVEN hundred fifty POUND race WEIGHT!

No. I was the only one at the track. It was a last minute, knee jerk reaction to go. I figured if I could get the car ready the night before and wake up I would go. I really wish I could've gotten vid of both runs. They were taking pics, but it was a two man operation and they were both working the lanes and I didn't have the patience to wait around.
I think the only way it'd run a 10 is if the stars and planets aligned perfectly and the Hand of God physically touched the Teal Turd. I have to go with the Fatboy and say the best bestest on how it stands now would probably be another 10th or two with better air.

I'll have to do some research on that. The last thing I want is to have skinnies on the car to where the offset is so obnoxious they stick out of the fenders.

Well you really made a good improvement on your et's. My old 355" LT1 setup, CC306/LE heads ran 11.24@121mph with 3.42's in the 10bolt but it was auto and about 3550lbs. Later Clint

GTO spares will fit upfront, but unless you a track ***** just enjoy your car on the street.

Congrats man!! I knew your car had it in it!

BTW I think racestar industries makes a 17" skinny that should fit over your front brake.

This works, but sometimes they are a bit hard to find.

Thanks again everyone. I'm not sure I'm into the drag racing thing enough to justify the purchase of skinnies. Maybe if I run into a deal... Most of my track ***** days are pretty much over unless there's a group going and that doesn't happen a whole lot around here anymore.

Congrats. Car still looks the same as the last time I saw it.

Need to hit up some track rentals now. That's how I did the TTA when I was still up there. Nobody bothers you with that silly tech in stuff
