SBC parts on LT1??
Crank has to be a 1-piece.
Cam would have to be a roller cam.
Traditional SBC heads would have to have provisions made for reverse cooling.

Yea people put small block SB2.2 heads on LT1 blocks, I don't know if you have to do any mods for the coolant passages as SBC is normal flow not reversed like LT1. I imagine that you will have to do some machining on the intake manifold to get that to sit right as well.
Without modification, no. The LT1 heads have reverse coolant flow heads, a unique design to the LT1. I believe the cam is LT1 specific too because it runs the optispark distributor.

if your running a dizzy then any sbc hyd roller cam will work or solid if you going with solid roller lifters..if you do so make sure you get lifters .300 taller..herbert has some for about 250$ or you can get morel lifter that are just under the herbert name for 550$
heads just need to be converted over will run 300-500$.i made a carb swap thread on here a bit back..search it theres alot of info on it if you are looking to go that route.

not unless he's running a button... which would be impossible with an LTx timing cover. Most, if not all, solid rollers will need to be machined for the step nose. A hydraulic roller will have to be for a late model block, not a retrofit style.

you are correct..i was just makin a quick point with a lil work the gen 1 stuff works..i have a real nice bullet cam on here forsale..jus needs the machining ..it was going to be what i used when i put real heads on my junk an was still going to run n2o before turbo.

Both SBC and LT1 run a "dizzy". Just depends on if you're talking optispark DISTRIBUTOR or conventional DISTRIBUTOR.
