Default DR's V Slicks

Alright about to put the 3.73s in the car this week and put it back together looking into a sticky tire. What would be the best choice a slick or a DR? I can trailer the car to the track and just use the air tools to change tires at the house so what you guys think. 13.3's now with street tires and 2.0 60 times with 3.23s

Alright and something I have been hearing that with some radials you have to have some HUGE burn out to make work and some other places I hear warming them up makes them less useful and just wasting tires

as far as drag radials go, I would forget about nittos, save yourself the frustration lol. they are good some times and suck other times. Mickey Thompson ET streets are far more consistant, but they dont last aslong as the nittos, id rather have consistant results at the track then have 8000miles more of a tire im burning off anyways. But everyones priorities are different.

IF you wanna go all out, hoosier makes some awesome DOT legal tires. DOT legal and Drag Radial are two different worlds, atleast it seems that way when you look at the tire

In my experience, when I had Nitto 555r on my car, they worked best for me with a 10 second long burnout. They like to be heated up good, because they are harder.

I've heard with Mickey Thompson ET Street radials first pass at the track, do a moderate 5 second burnout, the rest you only need to do 2-3 seconds.

I'm on ET Street slicks and I still like to make sure they're good and warm. I typically do a burnout in the water until I see smoke in my mirrors.

Why not the best of both worlds?

"Long lasting" drag radials for the street, slicks or et streets for the strip.

well i wont be driving on the road with the DR's only out to the track which is a 20 mile trip there and a 20 mile trip back so I could probably get quite a bit out of a DR lasting wise

soft sidewall of et streets will cushion the blow of the launch better than the et street radials.

yeah thats looks like what it is going to be like i said I could actually trailer it out there for minimal wear on the DR's to its a 40 mile round trip which i think shouldn't be to hard on the tires but 40 miles going once a week can add up. and another thing i have a true dual set up running it open headers probably won't give me to much more huh?

i say slicks for the track and et street radial I's for the street...........i run the MT ET Street radial I's onthe street and they are great......for the track I run a 28x10r15 Hoosier Drag Slick....IMO they cant be beat.....im hooking a 3500lb car in cold/overcast weather with no issues....going 1.40 60's with the front wheels about 2 feet in the air....id say hoosier slicks hands down for the track....again just my opinion

I'd vote for the E/T Street Radial. I don't like the floaty feeling you get from running a slick like the E/T Street. The radial gets times just as nicely and you wont need that much of a tire running in the 13's anyway.

For your car I would grab a MT ET Drag radial or a Hoosier Drag radial. Im confident you can hook them and a slick might actually slow you down at your power level.

That's BADASS!!!

I've been thinking about this recently, and DRs are the type of choice. Just wanted to see what the general consensus is on brands of DRs. Sounds like ET Street radials are popular.
