I put my new Dizzy in about 2 weeks ago, drove it down the street once but hadn't had the chance to drive the car since til last nite. Took it out, normal driving, put some gas in it & went to the in-laws place for a bit. Going home, I finally decided to run up thru the r's a bit, rolled on the throttle, all seemed good till about 5 grand, power dropped off & she just started runnin stupid, I mean stupid! Hard to start, barely wants to idle, she acts like she's in pain & after all this garbage I'm feelin like puttin her out of her misery! New dizzy? or somethin else?

If you don't want confusion, don't use slang terms.
The first thought I have is installation error. Did you make sure to line up the spline or cam dowel correctly? Did it slide in a fully seat before putting bolts in, or did you use the bolts to drive it into position?
Water pump leaks?

installed new plugs, seemed to idle ok, took it down the street and hammered it, as soon as it got into the upper r's it went nuts, had to drag it home with my truck
I've never had issues like this before, it's gotta be the distributor. The car was fine with the old distributor until the screws backed out of the rotor. I'm gonna see if Nick & I can work something out, I'd like to put the GM opti back in.
