Sweet build man!
question: how hard was it dropping the K member and motor without a hoist? just wondering for when my motor comes out.

We actually used a hoist to raise the body off the K-member. It would have been easier if we used dollies for the wheels to slide it out easily. We had to literally steer the front end assembly out from under the car LOL.

93M6Formula - Use this:
http://www.michiganspeed.com/enginepull/index.html

I used a steel cart that I welded up with some rectangular tubestock and some casters.
SUPER easy.

For the F1/F1A, the SDCE tensioner setup is the way to go IMO.

I spoke to sdce, they mentioned not being able to use an 12 rib with their set up. Really curious to see how this build comes out. Great to see guys building heavy hitting lt set ups!

You can do a 12 rib, but they recommend an 8rib sense it will hold and the belts are a lot easier to come by (cheaper). Its a spring loaded tensioner so constant pressure is the belt the entire time. I know of a nearly maxed out F1A using a 8rib sdce setup on an LSX setup.

And by that, you must mean, physically drag the front end over from under the car right?

Yes. Using a chain and an engine hoist, lift the body off of the K-member and roll it out from underneath the car.

Heh, the stand was in the way and we lacked tall enough jack stands so we slid the engine/trans sideways on cement... fun times.

Trickflows new 21 deg heads and stock LT1 intake ported by LE. The heads have also been worked by him with new springs, larger valves, etc.

Really?! I run a 12 SDCE on mine. Just change the 8 rib idler to a 12 rib and bam...done.

Blackbird, do yourself a favor and get a pulley alignment tool or borrow one from someone how owns a high dollar piece...I promise you, you'll snap your 1st belt in no time if you don't.

That's what I will be doing to make sure all the pulleys are perfectly aligned. I've read all about the belt issues so I want to make sure its correct.

I checked the SDCE website but didn't see a LT1 setup listed but just the LS. No pricing either.
