Default New guy with some question!

Just getting into figuring out which way i want to go with my car and was looking for some pointers and some proof on set ups.

I'm going fully forged 383 with about 9.5:1 and was trying to figure out a set up that would still be street friendly ( not a DD) but make some monster power. Either way i am going to boost this engine just trying to figure out what to do with the cam, heads and intake.

My first idea is to have L.E. or A.I. work some after market heads, go big hyd. boost cam and get the intake worked and cut to accept a big single blade but then started thinking about other stuff such as, solid roller, 18* heads and a single plane.

Just looking for different views on how much power can be made and is it worth the money if i want to still be able to play on the street since this is not a dedicated race car.

Thanks for any input!

You really need to decide what you want to do with the car. You said boosted. Supercharged? Turbo? A boosted car with 18* heads and a single plane most likely wont be very street friendly. A properly built 355 or 383 with AI 200CC ported stock heads can put you 10 second territory. Things get pricey quickly.

Honestly i want 650 to the wheels on about 15psi and still be able to play on the street and cruise, and this will be using a turbo.

Plan on having 25-30K to spend AND be handy with a wrench. Not trying to disuade you, just being realistic.

OP try reading the forced induction section, I think that will help you out a lot. and just like BlueRamAir said, You're gonna need at least 25K depending on what combo you want. And just remember you have to have the fuel system to support it all, suspension to get where you wanna go, and toss the 10 Bolt cuz it will be on borrowed time. The most important thing you can do is read up on every aspect of your build and make a build sheet of everything you need and plan out how you want it to run and how reliable you want it and go from there. It takes time but if you go easy with it you will be happy with the results!

Good Luck!
