10.12 to 9.40 is a HELL of a difference... probably 150hp.

I was pointing out how stupid it was comparing a b-body to an f-body. So I need not take care.

yea but if i put the 3.89 gear in that alone is 9.8s... same problem i had with 4.86, im topped out at 126 not to far after 1000' ft mark.... it should hit 133-135ish. that and 25 or 50hp bigger jets and the rright bottle pressure(was a little low because didnt bring a full torch bottle) should get me 9.6 range and then like said before the th350 with the right converter setup should be good for another 2 tenths..... im pretty sure that would get me there. I think if i cant talk my buddy into lettin me borrow my old th350 and 4C converter ill give it a shot.

just saw this thread and figured i would make a couple of points.....

my car is around 3100 with me in it. honestly, if i wanted to, i think i could get another 100lbs out of it. but, i think i am going to retain my carpet, interior panels, power windows/locks, trunk pulldown, and all the factory glass. it has a heavy 8pt. 1 3/4" ms rollbar in there as well. oh well. aside from the front suspension, the thirdgen is very similar to a 4th gen. i feel they can both be comparable weights and behave the same on the track. i am doubtful the drag coefficient matters that much.
the car went 9.44 with slicks on a very crappy pass. the car is now on 275 radials and i have been trying to figure them out this year. i am getting close with it i think, as far as the chassis goes. i also changed nitrous plates to a 2 stage deal.
if all the planets align in the next few months i am going to see how close to an 8.99 i can get. we shall see.
