Coolant cross over back of the head question.

Default Coolant cross over back of the head question.

For those who have broke the originals removing the heads, what did you use to replace them? Ive tried Home Depot and the parts store for brass fitting but they dont have anything in stock I can use.

pics would be helpful.

Use a pipe tap on them and you can get fittings to fit from Earls. I ended up picking up about $40 in fittings and made it work. Pretty sure they were -6AN.

That definetely looks better than the stock coolant crossover and cheaper to boot.

they started to manufacture the bolts aftermarket so they are available if you want to put it back the way it was.ill try and find the link if you want

2 3/8npt to -6an 90* fitting
1 3/8npt to 6an to -6an T fitting
1 -6an to -6an female coupler
3 ft of -6an hose
3 -6an hose ends

that was my list

or u can ditch the hose for hard aluminum line with hose nuts and sleeves

So is it 3/8 npt or 1/4 npt for the back of the head? Just got my heads ready to be thrown on and need buy all this crap lol

lol i was lazy and cheap, i just cut the line where it bent and broke, then put a rubber hose to connect both ends and clamped them together. it's held for close to 2 months now.

Damn I should have done that, oh well went to Lowes and raided the plumbing section. Only cost me $8, sorry but im not paying $50 for ******* fittings no one will ever see.

That's definitely nice. I still have the original crossover pipe, but if the heads are ever off the car again I'll definitely make this conversion.
