Unhappy Help LT1 LOOSING POWER

. My lt1 runs great but after a while of traffic jams and an hour of driving/ alot of red lights my car seems to loose power when it gets hot. it doesnt overheat or boil the coolant i could just hear the fans kick in but it doesnt overheat. so sometimes when i punch it and give it gas it hestitates like if it wants to turn off? i pressthe gas to the floor and expecting to fly by mustangs lol it feels like it wants to turn off but it never does.why is that?

is your check engine light on? see what codes it has i just had a similar prob and it was the right o2 sensor (code 64) i would have never gussed.now the car runs brand new. could also be the water pump temp sensor the one in front of the water pump.

Need more info on the car, what year ect...
Could be many different things wrong, find out what code its throwing, if any.

check your fuel pressure when the car is warmed up. could be your fuel pump getting ready to die.

the car has 106 thousand miles and no engine light comes on. never been rebuild. everything works i think. i havent had an engine light in a while but could i still get trouble codes even if i do not have an egine light on.

Check your injectors. Just had the same problem with my i-rock, and 2 of my injectors are bad.

you can buy a gauge to check it almost anyways. Go to autozone or whatever your local parts store is and tell them what you're trying to do and they should know exactly what you need. They should even be able to show you how to do it. Anywho, along one of your fuel rails (I think, not sure on an fbody, only done it on a jeep) there should be a little valve with a screw on cap or something. Take the cap off and hook the gauge up and it will read your fuel pressure. I'm not very good at explaining it, but once you see what the gauge looks like and look at your engine, you should be able to tell where to hook it up at.

Anyone else that has done this before, help explaining would be greatly appreciated. I feel bad I can't walk him through this.
