I'm running the xe 230/236 and I love it. My heads are mildly ported though. There is a thread I just posted a week or so ago with an idle vid. I will say it is a lot of can for factory heads and without other supporting mods. I have every supporting mod I can think of for it and trust me it gets pricey. A lot more that I predicted. Also you would need bigger injectors. My factory 93 objectors ( lowest of the lt1s) were at 95%.

Both of my lt1 cars, each way, this is by far the easiest thing to do. You arnt reusing them. It doesnt matter, grab your jack handle and thightin them till they snap. Hell, some of mine did it loosening them.

HA! You wanna talk about going over budget? My simple heads and cam swap that was ONLY supposed to cost me $1,200 in labor, is now at $4,300 because of a bad cylinder wall that had to be machined. FML!!!

I apologize if this is considered thread jacking, but the question of hub orientation is giving me a little concern. The absence of a woodruff key on the LT1 suggests strongly that it doesn't matter. Does it?

if your talking about intsalling the hub to the crank... it does not matter how u install it but most ppl like to install it while the crank is at TDC.

I suggest replacing the pan gasket while you got it hanging. I did mine on the car without jacking the motor up. Just make sure to clean the outside of the pan, K member and block. Also "right stuff" the **** out of the 4 edges.
