Default How much can you spray on a stock LT1 and how much gain.

I am planning on putting a small hit on my wifes car and was wondering what kind of gain I should see. Also I do not want to put on a kit I will probably piece it together with all the stuff I have already. But what should I see with a 100 shot or so. And do I need to add a module to take out timing or something like that. Thanks

My buddy on here was spraying 100 shot on a stock Iron Head Lt1 and went from running 12.90s to 12.10s.....

so 7-9 tenths I would say..

I use to use a MSD Digital 6 box when I had an LT1 ignition to pull timing...works great and is very easy to use

Ive went from 13.1 to 11.58 on the same day with a .073 jet (175).

A lot of that came from the 60 though.

Gained ~15 mph

also if you do run nitrous you will want to run an ignition box that has rev limiter, the lt1 pulls fuel at the rev limit instead of spark, and that can potentially be a disaster if you hit the factory limiter while spraying

My car ran 13.6's with roller rockers, cold air intake, shorty headers, and a stock catback with a junk flowmaster muffler. Also with an awful 60 foot and bald street tires...

Back when my car was stock it ran 13.90's on motor and on n2o ran a best of 12.60's@110mph on radials with a 125shot. You could go quicker with drag radials too.

dont have to do this I'd reccomend running a window switch instead.....keeps it off if the RPM is too low or shuts it off if u buzz a bit too high......id rather hit the rev limiter with no nitrous in the mix

I normally hose mine with the 150 shot and run low 11's but last time out we pulled a 10 sec time slip with a bogus 60' on the 150 pills and I told the boys if the car hits low 11's I would hose it with 200 pills. So when it went low 11's thats what I did. LOL With the 200 pills it ran another 10 sec pass. Thats on a stock bottom end, stock heads with a hotcam.

Thanks! Oh trust me I am! I guess I should have clarified I don't suggest spraying a 200 shot on a stock bottom end. LOL It was one of those days of the car is running so good just how fast can we make a hotcam only LT1 go today...

1.9 60"
8.03 1/8
88.7 mph

Yea 60ft is huge. I run those 1/8th mile times bolt on only with no spray. 7.8x passes to be exact. High 1.6x 60fts

Want to bless my car for me?

I'm very interested in this thread also because I'm considering doing a mild cam-only setup this summer and maybe throwing a 100 shot on the car for a fun car until I graduate college. My only worry is my engine has 110k on it now, but then again, I'm very cautious and conservative

X2, vTec runs a 250 shot with a DP i think.......anyone know for sure??

Regardless its a stock shortblock in a 3gen running 9.40's @ 140+

Pull some timing and get the safety items and your fine with a 100-150shot.
