Default WTF! Stupid bov! Or stupid me?

My bov is opening before it even reaches boost.
I can hear it starting to crack open when the car is still in vacuum.
Its a billet bosch style bov. Could it be defective? I have it about 15inches before the maf sensor.
Wut the hell am I suppose to do now!!!???

Need more info about your car. Supercharger or turbo? What spring is in the bov? Where are you getting vacuum from for the bov?

Oh yeah! Info about the car would help! I am a genius!
Car is a turboed lt1 impala. I'm actually not sure wut spring is in the bov. The vacuum is referenced from the drivers side of the intake manifold. I have I T'd at the vacuum fitting.

"Billet bosch STYLE bov" Sounds like he bought a cheap knock off. That might just be the problem right there.

is the bov opening under vaccum at idle? or when you start to accelerate before you hit boost? i'd check/swap out the spring and see if that fixes it.

do you have any pics of the bov? i tried to look up a picture of it but couldn't find anything

No its not opening up at idle. It opens when I accelerate before I hit boost.
This bov is like solid. I doesn't have any screws or clamps on it. I really don't think that it opens. I can get a picture up later. If u were to goto hp performance.com they have a pic there. They use it on there twin turbo impala setup. They call the bov's billet bosch style. I've seen a few ls1 guys use it here on the forum. (Can't remember who tho)
They definitely have there's mounted further away from the throttle bodie than I do tho.

The BOV pictures on that website are conveniently not working. If it is "Bosch style" it is a compressor bypass valve, not a blowoff valve and it is entirely possible (and easy) to install it backwards. Flip it around and see if it works.

Edit- Look on this site- http://www.s4biturbo.com/art-dvtests.php pics with in/out arrows...

Thanx a lot 05hd!
The one I have looks really similar to the aluminum looking one but mine has like fins or something around it.
I can't figure out how to post the pics of it.
I had the short end mounted into intercooler hose and the longer end dumped to the atmoshpere. If I'm reading those arrows rite, it looks like I had it backwards.
I"ll change it around and give u guys an update.
