Default squeaking problems?

So I have a 96 z28 lt1 camaro and lately ive been having loud squeaking problems, not to long ago i replaced the belt and the squeaking went away, then later on the squeaking comes back, and this time i end up finding out that i had a few cracks in my radiator so i replaced that with the addition of new hoses, so then it goes away again, then i found out that the sensor on the radiator was loose so one night it just pops out and all hell went loose car overheated and what not, so i fix that no problem right, but the squeaking does not go away and then the other day i was driving to school i was having problems with my steering it was ruff and i check i see smoke coming out of the car and im already stressing out so after class i drive i have no problems with the steering and it did it again the next morning but after that no problems at all but the squeeking is still there oh and i just put in new p/s fluid, so if anyone could help me that would be great.

Not sure if you've tried this yet, remove your belt and rotate each pulley by hand. If it doesn't spin freely and feels rough, it probably needs to be replaced. I had a similar problem on my 95z and it ended up being an idler pulley.

Definitely look into the pulleys. If any of them are rough or do not spin by hand, that is more then likely your culprit. I recently had a problem with my alternators plastic cooling fin begin rubbing on the alternator housing itself. It made a horrible nails on a chalkboard type screech.

I agree with a pully going out. As far as the smoke, MAY have been one of the pullies having a bad bearing, causing the squeek....froze/ sized up and as the belt slides over the sized OR slower moving pully (moving slower do to bearing failure), starts smoking. As far as the "rough steering"...... COULD be the power steering pump. Easy to change...two bolts and two hoses, YOU HAVE TO SWOP THE PULLY from old pump to new pump. Then bleed the system, also a simple task.
