Not true. The cars with the transmission perform button don't have first on the column and they have 323's.

OKAY... let me correct myself. LT1 Camaros fall true in this regard, not Firebirds. Sorry.

anyone know if some of the camaros possibly came with 3.08s instead of 2.73s?

all you have to do on the camaros is take off the shifter cover and youll see a small black plastic piece that keeps the shifter from going all the way back into low. use a pair of pliers and pull it out and you got low gear. its very easy to do i did mine along with about 6 others.
