Default Im looking to install a Hurricane intake

its just like the super vic and it will fit lt4 heads which I have. This will be great, nothing extra having to be done and I hope it will bolt to the lt4 head bolt pattern where the intake bolts to?

Either way Im letting everyone know what I got for xmas

I run that intake. Mine was modified by a friend of mine, along with a custom elbow setup. Edelbrock makes a good fuel rail for it. It's the one used for the Victor E manifold.

Had to trim the cowl area a little bit here:

There is an adapter the converts the stock quick-disconnect hard lines to NPT ends..I actually saw some in the FS section a day or two ago.

Just an adapter for a gm fuel line to an type fitting. If you notice where the front of my intake is, my friend chopped off the thermostat area and welded the holes shut which would be used on a sbc application. It is not necessary to do this but it makes the area look a little cleaner. For the elbow he started with a standard 4bbl spacer to use as the base. It has a vacuum fitting on the back of it that we tee'd for the fuel pressure regulator and the brakes.

So what's your secret to going from 94 to 97mph in the 1/8th?

Assuming Hurricane is the same height then yes, since Supervic is 1" higher then Vic Jr.

edit: See post #16

Thanks Puck that means I can add a 1" phlenoic spacer and a ZEX perimiter N20 plate to my setup.

94mph was at dunn tire raceway which is a noted "slow" track in warm summer air (+2000da), 97mph was at empire dragway which is typically a tenth faster (to the 1/8th) in much better air.

After a little digging it looks like the Hurricane may be .506" taller then a Supervic, a hair over half an inch.

Would be hard to run a spacer under one in an f-body without some serious cowl cutting.

I don't have the Hurricane nor the Super Vic, I have the Victor E -EFI intake which is 1.5" shorter than the Hurricane and an inch short than a Super Vic so if I run a 1" spacer and a Zex perimiter N20 plate My setup will be at equal height to the Hurricane intake and I'm running the Nitrous Outlet LT1 elbow for the 58mm tb. Plus my car has a 4" cowl hood.

You will be fine.

The 860 Nitrous Outlet elbow can clear the cowl on a Supervic with minimal trimming, so if you end up 1/2" taller then you may need to do some snipping but nothing too drastic.
