I say the bigger rear end yes it will slow a car down but then you can drop the clutch at just about whatever you want with a 9' and a LT1 bolt on car. That and the cars need plates on them. I am assuming you guys don't want someone with a lot of cash to build a some what cheap bolt on car and bring it just to win a trophy (even though someone with enough money will put a plate on it anyways just to win). Just what I think I wish I could make it up there but its a LONGGGG shot for me

I would say that stock transmission apps should be allowed with internal upgrades. I'm also not against aftermarket rear ends either. I also agree with the plate idea, but I don't think it is going to be hard for someone to just go register the car and get a plate.
Personally, I really want to see some bolt-on race cars, but I also want to see some daily or street-driven bolt-on cars as well. So, I guess it's a tough decision. Do we divide the class itself up into seperate indexes? I really don't like that idea, it kind of makes the higher indexes outside of the Street Stock class pointless.

My turn
The car I'm planning to run in this class is a conversion into a 3rd gen f-body, so I hope thats ok...
I'm in the middle of putting a dead-stock, low-mileage '97 LT1/4L60E into my '91 Z28. The original intent was just to have a nice clean 3rd gen w/LT1 power, but ever since dicussions about this class started I've had the intent of bringing this car to run Street Stock, as well as my '96 Z28 to run Ex Street NA.
Mods will include:
*Shorty headers
*custom y-pipe
*EWP
*1.6 roller rockers (w/7/16 studs & guideplates)
*beehive valve springs
*Underdrive crank pulley
*3600 stall
*3.73s
The car will using a stock '95 PCM (tuned, of course), and will most likey be running with 17" wheels on all corners (DR's on the rear). I'm not sure exactly what its gonna weigh, but I'd say at least 3400# is a pretty safe bet as it'll still have full interior/bumpers/etc.

I think we should narrow it down a bit more than just GM. Don't need any LT1 Chevettes or Vegas. No issue with a 3rd gen F bod though.
