Simply marvellous......Got 61" of snow in December, a new local record. Had a short thaw, now it's back to the icebox and snowing, about 9-10" in the last week.
Yes, 36 lbs. of fuel pressure is indeed low, but if it's measured at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail, it's AFTER the filter, which could be restricted....Not a given, but a "could be"...

So I think I fixed the problem. I took the fuel filter off to put the new one on. I shook the filter and heard some banging around. Kinda sounded like a maraca. The filter inside the housing was loose and moving around. I think sometimes the filter would block off flow then when I shut the car off the filter would fall into the bottom of the housing, allowing fuel to flow through.
