Right there with you turning into an old man. I have these on my car:

They came in my Kooks y-pipe. Work great and pass emissions easily.

If you are running a decent size cam forget about cats. All they did to my car was turn the raw fuel smell into the horrid rotten egg smell.

I like metallic core cats. Magnaflows part number is 59559 I believe, the Thunderbolt metallic ones are the same thing

I have a single 3 in/out magnaflow hi flo cat on my custom y with a very large custom cam from LE and have zero rotten egg smell. However, I don't DD the car and I've been told with the overlap on my cam this cat wouldn't last long in a daily due to the fuel burning off in the cat greatly shortening it's life. It's not a big deal for me as I put very little miles on her yearly.

DAVE00 is right. you better research how long the cat you buy is gonna last you or your gonna end up buying new a lot if you DD that car

The car is not my DD. Im gonna tweak the tune a lil bit cuz i think its too rich as it is but im not to worried about killing cats early. Looks like magnaflow is gonna be the one to go with now i have to figure out one or two and where i can put them. I have room where the hump in the floor is but i dont think thats close enough to the headers

I have two cats on my car, one on each side of the y-pipe. I have the Thunderbolt metallic cats and they are probably one of the smaller cats available. I'm lowered about 1.3" and initially I scraped them the first few months, but now they seem to be good.

I'm running a fairly large cam and I don't get any smells, just a little bit on startup when its cold. Car sounds good and runs well, I have no complaints with them. I will be taking them off this year however, I have an extra y-pipe and want to see how it sounds with no cats on the car.

Edit: I noticed you have Edelbrock shorties. My dad's car has SLP shorties and has two small Random Tech cats in the y-pipe, so you should be able to get away with two.
