lol...well i always wanted to go 383 but if i dont need a 383 to run 11's and 10's..then why waste the money u know...its not like i can go spend 5G's on a build...ill go 383 eventually but it might be good to start at a 355....

but ill tell u this ive seen bare blocks with all machine work for $400 fresh machine and cleared for 3.750..so if i cant jump on this 355 short block..then ill look for a bare block and get the rest of the stuff seperate

A lot of ******** posting in here. I usually just read through and keep to myself but this just bothered me. Pretty sure we all started out as newbs at one point and made stupid post without searching. Sometimes even though a post may seem stupid to you maybe someone does not know how to search for something like 'ms4 sounding lt1 cam'. Its just easier to post and ask for the community to help. /rant
OP, years ago when I started with my LT1 I decided on the cc305 and was disappointed with the results. It is a good DD cam but I wanted the power to run 12's. If I could go back I would have gone with either a cc306/gm-847 or if I had the $$ a Lloyd Elliott cam. I would think with a LE2 heads/cam setup you would be happy. Look on youtube for le2 heads and cam.

xfi 292 is what i would go with. maybe 847 but any bigger you would need a stroker motor with 210-227 cc heads and a custom solid roller cam. just turn the idle down to 750 it will sound bigger then.
