Intake in front of radiator (Vette style)

I know I have seen this done by someone here before, and think it would be a good alternative to the LS1 Lid, possibly without cutting your hood. I have seen someone have an elbow come down through the radiator support to a filter in front of the radiator getting the cold air, but what about using a C5/C6 intake bridge and doing the same, as they are lower profile than a pipe, and then either a cone filter or construct a Vararam or Chris1313 style RamAir box to the front of the air dam? Has anyone tried this or something similar? I think I may go this route with mine as I don't have a RamAir hood, I don't mind cutting the plastic radiator cover or front support, as you don't see those, and don't want to cut my hood up but want a better intake system.

I may have done this a time or two...
If done correctly, it will clear the stock hood. When I built the first one on my car, I still had the stock hood.
And its been dicussed in countless threads, I even gave a step-by-step in one of those threads (I don't remember which one now)
Search "over the radiator intake" you should come up with plenty.
Btw, the corvette bridge doesn't make a sharp enough bend to clear the rad support, I tried that already.

I'm finishing up a set of fiberglass intakes that go over the radiator. They're oval 4" but I still don't think it would clear the stock hood. I have one unit that seals up against the DS foglight opening. Another one goes to a big k&n that sits right in back of the PS foglight opening. Time consuming yes, and I may not be the most incredible fiberglass molder, but it's super functional.

Did that too...didn't make any difference in et or intake air temps over having the filters just open in front of the radiator. Just tryin to save you some trouble

I did mine probably a year to a 18 months ago. I blatantly copied Larry @ Speed Inc. In fact he gave me guidance over PM's and emails. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)
I have a Corvette blackwing filter pushed all the way forward into the nose of the bumper cover to get it away from the radiator. My foglights are long gone so a decent amount of air gets into that area. My set up clears my stock hood. I did not have to do any cutting to the hood. Looks a good bit like Colin91Z's picture. Unfortunately for some reason I don't think I've taken any pictures of the engine compartment since that project and the car is torn apart right now.
