I went w/ madz28, Ion's always been quick and trouble free. when ever I finally get my new heads slapped on Im planning on having Ed Wright tune in lieu of a dyno tune due to my area and Ed's tunes are always almost spot on when people w/ his tune get dyno-tuned.

on a milder build i had pcmforless and i think it had room for improvement. on my 385 build i had ion do it. lets just say i have been putting in some work on this turd. there were a few issues that needed to be sorted out.. it was SUPER rich, the idle tables for park/neutral were zero'd out its a m6 and it wouldn't idle for more then a few seconds. the ve tables were for much less aggressive setup. i was not impressed with the product and was expecting to have to put some time in it but i think they were simple mistakes that shouldn't have been made.

Since when do people hate Solomon? I thought he had a great rep with the LT1 crowd. My first tune was with a major sponsor who does tuning. Added headers and got a retune from the same sponsor. Was disappointed at the increase in performance. Just for kicks, I got a retune from Solomon. Car drove much peppier and shaved .11 off my qtr mile compared to the retune from the other guys (corrected for sea level). I never even data logged it or had him do any fine tuning...just ran with his first try. I will definitely go back to him.

I never understood why people cheap out on something so detrimental to the cars performance. A dyno tune by a reputable tuner will always be spot on and a lot safer than a mail order tune from someone that never sees the car. Hell my tuner had to take 6 degrees of timing out of mine at WOT over my mail order tune and richen it up quite a bit. He probably saved my motor in the process.

Moe Bailey! Now I have never had Moe do a mail tune, but I did have PCMforless do my mail tune and they got me 377rwhp. Then I had Moe dynotune it and it went up to 403rwhp! Not knocking on PCMforless, they may have been able to do that if they were able to dynotune it. But then again it was a very common cam. 306 comp cam with LE1 heads.

In the time to do all that, you could have easily answered the question. I don't get this board. You can read the title and know that it's a search topic, yet you come in and say it anyway. Just stay out of it.
Also, 99.99999999% of ALL threads in this forum are repeat. Should we all say search for everything? This forum would die. It would be an archive, not a message board.
Give the "do a search" BS a rest already. Answer the question or STFU.

Anyways, op go with ion or moe bailey. I use to be a fan of pcm for less until a few local guys had thier lsx's go boom because of his tune. Frost even said his tunes were jacked!

I am getting everything together right now for Ion to do a tune for me. I am doing a OBD1 conversion since I have the parts laying around and just got my Moates 95 ALDL usb box and cable so I can have Ion do a E-mail tune and data logging. Hope to have this done in the next week.

I'm sending mine into pcmforless next monday. I always put 93 octane in my car since our local shell sells it. Is there any real gain using 93 instead of like 89 or 91?

Just because a bunch of people online follow a trend doesn't mean it's a good one to follow.

I ran a PCMforless mail-order tune on my new motor for over a year (before I eventually had it dyno tuned by the same tuner) with zero problems, including zero detonation, constantly monitored. Only picked up 15HP on the dyno, so I'd say the mail-order tune was pretty damn good.
