I like the fact that you used real mufflers for this build. I did duals on my old firebird but used spiral flows, then switched to one chambers and it was rediculous how loud and raspy it was. I bet your car has a smooth sound.

i put my single chambers in that location without removing the bubbles under the rear seats and they hit all the time going over bridges and big humps. lowered with eibach pros.

The back seat area was hammered to make the mufflers tuck up that much. I went up several steep. Driveways yesterday and the only thing that scraped as usual was the tips

Here are the soundclips, first is a cold idle, second is a warm idle with revs. Enjoy

sounds pretty docile for what it is! it has the perfect melody to it. I love it! how loud is it inside the car ? any noticeable power increase ?

Inside the car its pretty quiet, its a very smooth sound. Zero drone on the highway, you can talk normally. And yes a lot of midrange increase. Nothing scrapes, nothing bangs.

Thats the sound i want, nice quiet idle very subtle with just a hint of cam lope(i have a similar cam) but it barks when commanded. You have me thinking...

Also you said you had to clearance near the back seat with how much you did is the rear seat still usable?

Ill check today, I ripped my backseats out a while ago so I didn't pay attention if it affected anything. It only took a few seconds of hammering, but without it I would have had zero ground clearance. You can run these or the Magnaflow 5x9s, these are a few dbs quieter and cost 30 bucks less. As far as I know I'm the only LT1 with this setup, its a very unique sound in person

Sweet dude... any idea how quiet those Borla's are in comparison to like a Dynomax Super Turbo? I'm going 2.5" TD's via a universal X pipe kit from Summit, and I'm still trying to decide on a muffler.

I've got a CC306 w/ ported heads, and I want the same sound..... quiet at idle, still hear the cam lope, quiet while cruising w/ less drone, and awesome at WOT.

lol with all my stock cars it's been LOUDER LOUDER LOUDER! Now I've got the 383 and I'm like holy **** please get me some quiet mufflers ASAP

Google Borla Pro XS test. There was a 5.0 magazing that tested like 14 different mufflers from diffrrent brands. They did 3 dyno pulls with each muffler and then a decibel test. The Borla was the quietest and came third in power behind open cutouts and hooker maxflos, not sure if they tested dynomax mufflers
