If it were me, I would use a bowtie guide plate as a template and MIG the 2-piece Iskys for peace of mind. There is no reason not to weld them solid. TIG is simply overkill.

The reason to weld them is because he is obviously talking about the two-piece adjustable guideplates.

TIG would be nice because it makes a whole lot less mess.

I never welded mine, just torqued the studs and it was fine. If I had access to a tig though I likely would have used it, just a spot is all you would need.

3 of the cylinders had a different spacing on them vs. the GMPP plates. I was going to permanently set those for no good reason. Got nothing better to do...

Lol... if you can get the tig welder where it needs to be then do that. you just need to have it so that they wont move apart from you If in the situation that they loosen up. which i highly doubt will happen

The GMPP plates fit a LOT better than say a standard Comp but in no way would I use them as a template to set the Iskys.

I agree with this...I set up the ISKY's from scratch and then compared that with the old GMPP's just for reference sake - ever so slight stance difference on 2,3, and 4. Not sure if this is typical on the stock castings or not?? Thanks for the feedback guys.
