Opti problems I changed optis and its not cranking up so i took the opti back off and change holes and it still isn't cranking. has anybody gone threw this already willing to help me out
You took off the opti and jammed the cam pin in a different hole????
You probably broke the opti then if it was not the original problem.
Can you learn how to describe things?
Is the starter turning the engine over??
If it is turning over, is it attempting to fire?
Have you checked for spark and fuel pressure?
The opti is a good piece, ignorant owners is the single biggest problem it has, sounds like you blindly bought into all the internet bullshit about how bad it is and because of such have made no coherent attempt at diagnosis.

when i took the old opti off and open it up one of the screws was already out so i went an bougt another and now its no starting. when i first installed the new opti it was back fireing when i turned the motor over so i took it back off and changed holes and it turned over but would not start to me it sounded like it was firing but i will check tht tomorrow

It is possible to install an opti with the dowel pin engaging the wrong slot. The engine will only run properly when the opti is installed properly.
There are lots of walk thru pics on here and all over the 'net.
Its also possible to break the opti if the installed incorrectly.
So, take a step back and look at the parts, and get the opti installed with the correct alignment. Also trace out the plug wires and match them to the numbers molded into the opti cap.

94 is original style opti with the spline gear setup, correct? Unvented some call it? I was referring to the 95-up opti with the dowel. With the spline gear setup, you need to take the cap off, line up the gear and turn the rotor until the opti does on easily and sits flush. The first time I did the unvented opti, I forced it on and made a new "key spline" and the car didn't crank. Tried it again with the cap off so I could turn the rotor and found where it fit and it slid right in with no problems. Bolt the opti down, then bolt the cap back on and make sure all the wires are correct and good to go.

I did an unvented splined drive opti. I stabbed it one slot advanced. Car came off the line like a beast but fell on its face in the upper rpm (typical of advanced ignition timing) I pulled it out and turned it back a slot and restabbed it. Ran perfect.

I share this information bc it doesnt ever seem to be mentioned. I thought at first the opti may be faulty, but I couldnt get over how much it was just like too much timing. And also, the car was a bitch to start when it was hot. The starter couldnt hardly turn the motor over. But when it was cold it would spin off very well. I put 2 and 2 together and ended up admitting installer error and taking it back apart.
This is similar to what I did, but just imagine if it went in 120 degrees advanced or even 60 degrees. It won't start. You can definitely pursuade it to go on any way you want, but if you have it lined up right, it will slide in without much effort. Again, this is only for the spline drive opti's. I think 92-94, but years may be different with b-bodies.
