Default Lt1 Revving On Its Own....

just made an account, but been reading forum for awhile. i have a 94 z28 A4. my engine revs on its own. i kno it sounds dumb but it does. i cant figure out why either and was hoping someone on here could help me out. i took this vid with my cell phone while i was a stop light. usually does this after i been driving it for bit. any help is appreciated. THANKS....

My buddies mustang used to do that but it rev all the way to 1500. It was the IAC.

Could be the coolant temp sensor in the water pump.

@iron: yea mine hits 1500 also, and I changed the IAC valve. I didn't put a gasket on it cuz the Instructions said it had a one built into it. I was kinda iffy about that but I installed it anyways, could that be it to?
@henry: ok I'll have to check that out.

sorry to hijack.
Mine does the same when you pump the breaks while its in park. and one ever had that problem??

that sounds like a vacuum leak

same with the OP or a bad IAC valve

haha mine revs when I shake the power mirror switch really fast!

Did you clean the IAC passages? If not,take off the TB and clean it. I would also clean the MAF and check vacuum lines.

IAC or vacuum leak may be your issue. also as a note. your oil pressure is Low!

couldn't also be the tps? My old foxbody did that it was a little more of a surging rev then this but mine was tps.
