Default Best mid length headers for 95 z28..??

I have one word for you... CALIFORNIA!! I really hate this state. I have LPP long tubes on my car right now and of course I cant get my car smogged like this. And I dont have any (hook up) at a smog shop soooooo...
I want some shorty's that are legal? Not sure which ones to get.
Really don't want to break the bank either buying them. I just want to get my car running again... any recommendation will be appreciated, thx

Try looking for some mac mids, or better yet, AS&M if you can find a pair.

EDIT: I think AS&M is only 49 state legal. Make sure whatever you get is CARB approved.

Yep I dont think AS&M are legal in Cali. I 'll try to find some MACS for a decent price. What about BBK? I found some for like $420

Single cat style 94-95 SLP's are a very good midlength header if you can pick up a used pair. I don't think they sell them anymore. Stainless steel & 1-3/4 primaries, very well designed, been running them for 8 yrs now.

Hooked makes a nice shorty aswell. Hightech did a test with them quite a few years back when they did the Bolt on Lt1 shootout.

And you also want mids, not shorties.

My vote is for the MACs. I ran them for 4 years and loved them. Great plug access, good construction, but their "HTS coating" was basically paint, and they started rusting after about a year. You live in CA so it may not be as big of an issue.

Id go for As&m or SLP's. I have mac's, i just think their design holds a bit of HP back compared to others. Both As&m + SLP are 1 3/4 primary rather than 1 5/8 to0.

From the research I've done AS&M are legal in 49 states. Guess which one it isn't? SLP's are hard to find. Still looking though. Might just buy some Mac and call it a day

If you can find some 94-95 SLP mid-lengths they're your best bet. Much better plug access than AS&Ms and they don't have the slip-fit primary and have ball-socket flanges. Also, they were offered in ceramic-coated stainless, but be careful because ceramic-coated mild steel was also available, I made the mistake of assuming all SLP mids were stainless. They're hard to find but I love the set I just installed much more than the AS&M & RK Sport mids I've had in the past.

I liked my pacesetter mids, came with a y-pipe for around $230 or so when I got them and had decent plug access.

the paint basically caught on fire and burned off in like 30 min though

1 5/8 primaries is enough for 350ci. Anything larger than 350ci and you need 1 3/4 primaries. With that being said I would get some Pacesetter mids with the ceramic coat or the Macs. I love my Pacesetter mids...

I've got some Mac mids I could pull off if you would be interested in a trade. I've been wanting some stainless longtubes for a while. Or heck if you just want to sale them straight out that might work too.
