I dunno... Perhaps an e-mail to Ion is in order? I can't do it all!

So everyone is saying you can just switch the pcm and knock sensor, but what about the difference in the connectors which I posted earlier? Some of the power feeds from the PCM to fuses are in different locations. If yall say it works, just plug and play, then I believe you, but I just don't see how you get around the wiring differences. Anyone care to explain?

I am not even sure what that connector is for or why it has been brought up. Is there a write up on shobox's page stating a rewire is necessary for the conversion?
I'm telling you, there is no rewiring necessary. This has been done many many times over the years. Do a search on cz28.com regarding "OBDI Conversion" and you'll get threads dating back to 2003. I linked a thread from Ion himself as to what was necessary...

I am running an OBD I conversion from Ion. He puts a resistor in the pcm and all you do is plug in the computer. Nothing else. Did this years ago and has worked perfect ever since.

I think I was actually among the fisrt handfull he did actually.

I took the original obd2 pcm out of my 97 SS M6, removed the original knock sensor, and installed a replacement knock sensor from autozone for a 95 & earlier lt1 (different resistance values) then installed a stock 95 Trans Am M6 pcm that I had laying around from a car I parted out years ago. It works fine. I didn't re-wire or change anything else. I did have a friend "tune" the "new" 95 pcm for my 4.10 gears to correct the speedo. Everything else is the same. CES light stays on due to !egr. lol If I can get my friend slowed down I'll get that corrected as well.

Yep, as I said all along, mine was done back in '98. I got mine from Mike Licht of Modern Muscle Car. Of course MMC is long gone but Mike is still around. He was selling them at Memphis 97, so I know he was doing it at least since then.
