If i had the ability, i'd get molds made of my WS6 airbox and sell replicas. there's probably a copyright issue there though. Although since GM discontinued the part and no longer sells it, doesn't that negate any copyrighting? maybe make them w/o pontiac ram air like SLP did but still have the rubber gasket?

i bet people would make a killing on those since they always got for a **** ton of $ on ebay.

There is already a guy that makes them, but he is banned from here. I have his kit, it works like a charm, but it deletes p/s and everything.

Absolutely not. It's their choice to build what they copyright. I think it runs out in 80 years so try then.

here's the ram air setup that will seal to the foglight opening, still in rough draft mode obviously, it's a 4" oval... Don't mind the dirt!

Looks very similar to the new set-up I'm working on for mine. This time, instead of using 3.5" round tubing, this time I'm using 4" oval from Drgas. So of-course mine will be steel instead of fiberglass. I wish someone made oval bends like I need in aluminum. Small weight penalty, but I don't have a choice since I suck with fiberglass work. However, I haven't tried extending to the foglamp openings yet.

In for the Optispark eliminator. Maybe some of the other stuff too in the more distant, but not too far off future.

yea it was a pain in the *** trying to fiberglass with it on the car like that. You can see the progression from the relatively smooth top, to the "**** this **** stinks and my hands itch" finish at the bottom

Jakes kit? Yeah his is cool too. I dont think he has an option to keep P/S and A/C as you said.

The speed inc kit has options for all of that. The one that keeps A/C and P/S is really spendy though.

And you can take it a step farther and keep the power steering

How would there be enough tension for the crank to spin the p/s and the alternator?
It looks like all three pulleys are right in line with each other. If that is the case the belt will only touch maybe an inch of the balancer pulley on the top and at the bottom. That won't be enough grip to spin the 2 acessories. Maybe i'm looking at it wrong or something though.

Fun fact:

While digging through some spare parts I noticed that the AIR blockoff plates for the stock header is strangely close in size to the top of the oil pump drive .

I might just tack weld two tabs to that and use it with an ~1/8" taller bolt unless you get yours done before I start buttoning the engine together(just waiting on PR length checker to order my pushrods!)

I would buy your oil pump drive saver, and you already know I'm down for an opti delete and computer mod for more RPMs.

there may not be any copyright on the actual box? i would think as long as you didn't print the "pontiac ram air" letters on it you'd be ok?

Wasn't some guy designing the Opti-less optispark?

All of us would like to see opti gone, or the opti part gone. But it's been this many years.......will it actually happen?

I had a billet aluminum oilpump drive assembly custom built that goes under the intake, when my plastic one broke and almost ruined my 383, luckily I caught it when the oil pressure dropped. Every high performance LT1 should get rid of the plastic oil pump drive setup. I will sell mine for $25+shipping and somebody can duplicate it for cheap. I am moving onto a BBC so I don't need this anymore. LMK Clint
