well I just got a call today from the property management company at the apt. APPARENTLY all the parts on the garage floor "send the wrong message" to other tenants giving them the idea they can take their **** apart in the parking garage. So now this car really is going to be "PROJECT RATTLE CANS "SPRAYIN" FOR TENS, IN THE APT."

so at this point in time I'm narrowing down the list of what I need and I'm feeling pretty good about the parts.
I'm really looking for an electric water pump and I might need a cam if mine is in bad shape (i'm gonna check tonight).
I also ordered up a billet grille and got the '69 camaro blue bowtie, I gave Mike (black94z28) my old one and got one brand new. And finally, I ordered from emblempros the composite CAMARO letters for the rear panel.
Car should be rattle canned at the end of March/beginning of April and then we put the motor in and put everything together and hopefully end of April/beginning of May this thing makes some passes.

It fits really good actually, there is a small gap at where the bumper meets the fender but then again, ive seen worse on factory bumpers. Im sure I could get rid of it if I worked my magic on it for awhile. The only thing i DONT like is there is no insert for the Camaro badge on the bumper. Looks goofy IMO. But I guess you can always just reapply the 3m tape to the emblem and it wont be noticable. I think Jason needs the 6LE bumper...

Although it is going white so it cant look too bad. The only thing is the clear is so thin, going to have to be careful when wetsanding. It will look ok with the spray cans, I can probably do a better job than what a cheap maaco job will look like (and I know, I worked there for a year) but by no means will be show quality. Will it be an improvement over what it is now...YES! And being on a limited budget like he is and for being a track only car, its not a bad option.
I plan to prime/guidecoat and block the car with his provided duplicolor cans, tackrag the car, spray white b/c and let dry...wetsand any imperfections out, and then clear and probably hit it will some 2000 and then 3000 and buff the car. As long as the bodywork/prepwork is done right, the only issue I can see is going to be some orange peel or a dry spot on the larger panels.
With that being said, my own Camaro only gets painted with PPG base/clear

Well when my cost of materials = $0 and my cost of labor = maybe $8 in china buffet every 2 weeks for a month plus a plate of cookies. I'll take that ANYDAY!! If in 18-24 months the paint looks like ****, well by then I'll re-do the right way because I should hopefully have a job. Until then, I'm gonna be the cheapest son of a bitch around but I'm still gonna get **** done and I'm gonna go fast LIKE RICKY BOBBY!! haha
btw. I'm currently unemployed so that's why I'm being so cheap.
