Jason..... I just found my "stash" of old LT1 parts pm me or text me if you find anything you might still need (mostly motor wise). Otherwise I'll offer them up in one last thread before I toss it.

so karma has caught up to me today....I was trailering the car trying to get estimates for body work and on the way up to McHenry, somehow the glasstek hood flew off the car and after 3 hours of driving around, I was unable to find it.

I'm looking for the exact same hood and hopefully someone will take pity on me and help me by giving me a good deal on it. I don't want any other hood but that glasstek 4" hood. I have my stock hood also so if someone will take my hood plus cash that would be great. Either that or I could swap my newly cleaned and decked heads that are previously pictured and include the springs and rocker arm studs.

You would be suprised how much those Glasstek hoods can take. Thats some shitty luck I'm sorry to hear that! I was in that area yesterday if I would of known i would of helped.

Keep en eye out in the paper or call crystal lake police and see if maybe someone reported something.

I told him call the police but i think he is worried that the hood may have caused an accident or something.

He had the hood just sitting on the car only secured by the front hold down. The back hindges werent attached and the car was being towed backwards on the trailer. I wasnt with him when it happened but my guess is must have caught a gust of wind at higher speeds and tore the hood off. A piece of the bottom fiberglass is still attached to the latch in the front. Rest of the hood is MIA.

BTW Sam...call me next time your in the area. Love to get some pics of the black Camaros together. I literally live right next door to Gary Lang on 31. Plus kinda funny, I have a LS1 bodystyle with the lt1 and you have a LS1 in a LT1 bodystyle. lol

Damn that sucks, that is just some flat out bad luck!

The car will be out hopefully in a few weeks.... I've been dealing with some personal & health issues that has kept me from working on it after the new year but me and Strobin spent all day Friday out in the driveway getting the new lid setup to clear and the hood to close so it's close to go time. Now the exhaust may keep me out your neck of the woods it's not so quiet anymore
