Missing head dowel pin - options?

Should I replace it?
Will I be OK w/out it?
I need to put this motor together today and no one in town has a pin for an LT1/SBC.

The small 1/4 dowels on the head surface of the block. They are mostly there to align the head gasket and help keep the head in position while assembling the engine.

you def need that, your gasket will blow out with out it. Seen this happen at work a few diffrent times over the year, all that work to just take it back apart. try a 4.3l v6 it should work fr you
