Default New intake idea within

I did some measuring and the ls1 airbox setup just won't fit under a z28 hood. However i did come up with an interesting idea and the key parts came in the mail today. How does a c5 airbridge with a conical filter cut through the radiator shroud hanging infront of the radiator sound? Looks like it will work but won't know more till Sunday

Default LT1 air intake

I have a 94 T/A with a US Exotics fiberglass ram air hood (WS6 style) but non functional. It has the air ducts with a cutout where an air box should go. I thought about getting a throttle body adapter to hook directly to the MAF (common on Impala SS). From there get a filter from the K&N FIPK for the C5 Vette. It has a 3 1/2" opening to clamp on the MAF. It should lay on the radiator support right in the cutout to have a ram air effect. I haven't tried it but might give you an idea for something else. I don't have the money to play with it since the filter will run you around $100.

Just my opinion, but that looks like it would be a little restrictive. I do like where it places the filter though, right were the air comes up the airdam.

The vette airbridge looks pretty flat but it is failrly wide and has nice smooth contours so i think it will be alright. Plus the ram air effect will be a plus.

I hate to be a party pooper, but where does the MAF go? It looks like if you add the MAF in you'd have to cut off some of the radiator shroud (no big deal), but otherwise cool idea!

Other have opinions of this? I wanted to do the LSx lid set up but dont need a different hood at the moment just to do a lid, already got the SS style on there....
This looks like a good alternative to the traditional LT1 set ups but is there actual cooler air getting to the set up?

I think this is a great idea, I always wondered why aftermarket companies make so many twists and turns in their set ups.

If you look closely at one of the pics it looks like he added the MAF at the filter end of the intake so its all good

If anyone is interested I could sell the filter, intake, and maf translator I used as a maf wire extension for $80 bucks. I wrecked my camaro (didn't have this on it at the time) and no longer need it. I did work good and I gained back about 2 tenths going back to the stock intake with a cut open filter element.
